You make a fair point, and I’m only speculating from the uncle’s words filtered through Walsh’s piece. Still, the article also says, “Although he hadn’t seen his nephews since 2009, Tsarni declared flatly: ‘I didn’t like them. I just wanted my family to be away from them.’” Maybe he was the only person who felt this way. Maybe not. Either way, it’s sad.

The facts are that the family brought them to America for opportunity, and gave them opportunity and fostered a good chance for education. But, of course, you left out the fact that the uncle, 400+ miles away and out of contact with these guys for years, didn’t consider them “losers” until he learned about what they did today.
